S Korea convenes security meeting


Seoul, May 4 : South Korean presidential office, Cheong Wa Dae, convened an emergency meeting of senior security officials after North Korea's missile launches earlier on Saturday, Presidential administration spokesperson Ko Min-jung said.
The meeting was chaired by director of Chung Eui-yong, Cheong Wa Dae's National Security Office.

It was also attended by Defence Minister Jeong Kyeong-doo and National Intelligence Service chief Suh Hoon.According to the spokesperson, the meeting’s participants were monitoring the situation and closely exchanging information with the United States.Earlier in the day, the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said North Korea had launched several short-range missiles.
