Ankara, Apr 17 : Ankara hopes that its partners on the F-35 jet project will fulfill their obligations as stipulated under the deal, Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar said on Wednesday following his talks with US counterpart Patrick Shanahan in Washington.
"Negotiations with the US Secretary of Defence were positive. We noted with great satisfaction that the United States' views had become closer to ours. We have fulfilled all our commitments within the F-35 project and everybody admits it. In the same way, we expect that all eight countries participating in the project will fulfill their obligations toward us," the minister said.
Patrick Shanahan met with Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar over mutual security interests, said the Pentagon. The duo met as strategic partners and "focused their discussion on interests, rather than positions," Pentagon statement said. (UNI)
