Paris, Apr 8: French President Emmanuel Macron will hold a meeting with UK Prime Minister Theresa May in Paris on Tuesday evening on the eve of the EU summit on Brexit in Brussels, local media reported on Monday.
May is also expected to hold talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin on Tuesday.
"This unscheduled working meeting with PM May will be held as part of the preparation for the extraordinary European Council meeting on Brexit, which will convene in Brussels on April 10," Macron's administration said.
The UK government and Brussels reached a divorce deal late last year, but the UK parliament has refused to back the agreement and cannot agree on any alternative measures. The country was supposed to have left the bloc on March 29 but missed the deadline. The European Union gave London until April 12 to either come up with an alternative solution or leave without a deal on that day. (UNI)
