Singapore, Apr 2 : Singapore Airlines has grounded two Boeing 787-10 aircraft due to the deterioration of engines, which was found in routine inspections, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the company.
According to the statement, some of the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 TEN engines on Singapore Airlines' Boeing 787-10 fleet were found to have "premature blade deterioration". Pending engine replacements, two SIA 787-10 aircraft have been removed from service, it added.
The statement showed that the airlines has been in consultation with Rolls-Royce and completed all of its engine inspection on its 787-10 fleet, and a remaining check will be completed on a 787-9 with its subsidiary Scoot Airlines by April 3. (UNI)
