At least 70 killed as 2 buses collide in Ghana

Nairobi, Mar 22 : At least 70 people were killed as two buses collided on Friday morning in Ghana, Africa, local media reported.

The accident occurred in the Kintampo North municipal district.

A bus heading to the southern city of Kumasi collided head-on on the Kintampo-Tamale highway with a bus heading towards Bolgatanga, located in the country's north.

While the Kumasi-bound bus went up in flames and all of its passengers died immediately as the Bolgatanga-bound bus fell into a ditch.

Investigation into the incident is underway. It is speculated that one of the drivers dozed off and drove into the oncoming lane. (UNI)
