Islamabad, Feb 22: At least 28 people were killed while over two dozen sustained injuries in the latest wave of extreme weather across Pakistan, local media and officials said on Friday.

The death took place due to torrential rains, thunderstorms and heavy snowfall. Chief Minister of Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan on Thursday said that at least four people were killed in flash floods caused by the torrential rains.

Rescue workers along with four helicopters are busy in rescue and relief operations in the flooding areas, the chief minister said. Several roads were blocked and electricity supply was disrupted in different mountainous regions of the country due to heavy rains and snowfalls. UNI
