Seoul, Feb 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Seoul on Thursday morning on a two-day visit to South Korea.
During his stay, Modi will be conferred upon with the 2018 Seoul Peace Prize at a ceremony to be organised by the Seoul Peace Prize Cultural Foundation on Friday "in recognition of his national and international contributions".
“Acting East”: from policy to action! PM Narendra Modi arrives in Seoul, Republic of Korea, his 2nd visit after the State Visit in May 2015," MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar tweeted.
"During the visit, PM will have bilateral & business engagements, unveil Gandhi bust & accept the Seoul Peace Prize conferred upon him," he wrote.
On the eve of his visit, Prime Minister on Wednesday tweeted to say- "During our talks, President Moon Jae-in and I will take forward our conversations from last year on how best to advance the India-ROK partnership".
"I will also meet business leaders, the Indian community as well as eminent persons from all walks of life," Mr Modi wrote.
The visit will further demonstrate the priority India attaches to deepening multi-dimensional engagement with the Republic of Korea as part of the Act East Policy, MEA officials have said. UNI
