Paris, Feb 17: More than 20 people were detained on Saturday during the yellow vest demonstrations in Paris which have entered their 14th consecutive weekend, local media reported.
As many as 41,500 yellow vest protesters participated in Saturday's demonstrations across France, including 5,000 in Paris, the BFMTV broadcaster reported citing the French Interior Ministry.
Police detained 23 people during the protests in the French capital, according to the broadcaster.
Large-scale protests erupted in France on November 17 in the wake of the government's decision to raise fuel prices and increase fuel tax. Even though the French authorities later scrapped their plans, the yellow vest protesters, dissatisfied with the government's social policies, continued to rally across the country.
