Damascus, Feb 9 : A total of 45 people, mostly children, have died recently in a refugee camp in northeastern Syria as a result of the tough humanitarian situation, a war monitor reported on Saturday.
The deaths were reported in al-Hol camp in the countryside of the northeastern province of al-Hasakah, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The humanitarian situation is tough in that area due to the harsh weather as tens of tents were flooded by the water. Hundreds of families remained without a shelter in the camp, said the Observatory.
Around 40,000 people seek refuge in the camp and many of its residents have fled the Islamic State's (IS) control in eastern Syria.
The area there is controlled by Kurdish militia.(XINHUA)
