Moscow, Feb 5: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin are to hold a meeting in Sochi, Russia, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
Peskov said the meeting between Iranian and Russian leaders will be held on the sidelines of the upcoming Astana Summit on February 14 which will also include Turkey.
The summit aims to discuss Syrian developments, IRNA reported.
He went on to say that the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Putin will hold another bilateral meeting.
Astana has so far hosted 11 rounds of meetings on crisis in Syria.
The last round of the Astana talks was held on November 28-29.
The event was held with the attendance of Syria, Iran, Russia and Turkey in Kazakhstan.
Representatives of Jordan and the United Nations also attended the event as observers.
The new round of Astana talks will discuss conditions in northern Syria and review the latest measures taken in Idlib and Manbij.
Despite different objectives in Syria, the three peace guarantors proved that they are capable of establishing cooperation by focusing on common interests. (UNI)
