Dhaka, Jan 30 : Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday urged the international community, including Vietnam, to persuade Myanmar to take back its nationals from the country.
'Myanmar must take back their nationals from Bangladesh and we want the global community to help in their repatriation from here,' she said, while meeting Special Envoy of the Vietnamese Prime Minister and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dzung.
'Bangladesh is developing an island to relocate the Rohingya people there, temporarily. But, they will have to go back to their country,' the Ms Hasina further said, the local media reported.
'It’s a big burden for Bangladesh,' she added.
Vietnam will donate USD 50,000, as part of its solidarity with Bangladesh on the Rohingya issue, Mr Dzung said. (UNI)
