4.1 magnitude earthquake strikes central Iran

Tehran, Dec 4 : An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale shook suburbs of Fereydounshahr in Isfahan province of central Iran.

The quake occurred at a depth of 10 km underground, Iran's News Agency IRNA reported, citing the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University. No report has been released yet on the likely casualties or damage to property.

Earlier in November last year an earthquake measuring 7.3 on the richter scale had hit western Kemanshah, killing 620 people and injuring more than 12,000 others. UNI
