Buenos Aires, Dec 1 : Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in lieu of his cancelled talks with US President Donald Trump over Kerch Strait incident.
According to TASS, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Saturday said, "Yes, there will be a meeting with the Turkish president in the first half of the day."
Mr Putin and the Turkish President last met on November 19 in Istanbul. The two leaders also held talks in October and August.
The US President cancelled the meeting with Mr Putin over the recent incident in the Kerch Strait, where three Ukrainian Navy ships violated Russia's state border when sailing from the Sea of Azov to the Black Sea.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Mr Trump had said,'Based on the fact that the ships and sailors have not been returned to Ukraine from Russia, I have decided it would be best for all parties concerned to cancel my previously scheduled meeting in Argentina with President Vladimir Putin. I look forward to a meaningful Summit again as soon as this situation is resolved.'(UNI)
