Moscow, Nov 29: Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump will meet on Saturday on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Argentina, Russian news agencies reported on Thursday.
"The meeting between Putin and Trump in Argentina on the sidelines of the G20 summit is scheduled for 5.30 p.m. Moscow time [20:00 IST] on 1 December," Sputnik quoted a source as saying. Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov also confirmed the meeting to state news agency RIA Novosti.
The meeting, at the Park Hyatt hotel in Buenos Aires, is expected to start last for over two hours, RIA Novosti said. Ushakov said the two leaders are expected to discuss several bilateral issues, including "ways to normalise" relations between the two countries.
Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov meanwhile told reporters that Moscow and Washington don’t have to agree on all global issues but they need to hold talks, which is in the interest of the entire world. "We don’t have to agree on all issues, which is probably impossible, but we do have to hold talks. It is not only in the interest of the two countries but also in the entire world’s interest," Tass news agency quoted Peskov as saying. (UNI)
