Sana'a, October 16: Yemeni President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi has sacked the prime minister Ahmed bin Daghar .

Ahmed bin Daghar was also to be investigated due to "negligence in the performance of the government in the economic and service domains in the recent period," according to a presidential decree issued on Monday.

Maeen Abdul Malek has been named as new prime minister and Salem Ahmed Saeed as deputy premier, reported Qatar news agency. Abdul Malek, 38, had been serving as minister of public works in the outgoing government.

A number of Yemeni provinces have recently seen protests demanding the sacking of the government due to the deteriorating economic situation in the country. UNI
