Riyadh,Oct 13: Saudi Arabia has welcomed the Turkish presidency’s decision to set up a joint working group to investigate the disappearance of Jamal Khashoggi.
The foreign ministry of Saudi Arabia on Friday in a statement said that it had full confidence in the joint action team to carry out the tasks that it was entrusted with,reports Arab News.
Earlier on Thursday,Turkey accepted a proposal from Saudi Arabia to cooperate on the investigation. Khashoggi, a Saudi national and journalist who had been based in the US, has been missing since October 2, when he visited the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul.
A security delegation consisting of Saudi investigators has arrived in Istanbul to participate in the investigations. (UNI)
