Indonesia, Sep 28: At least 30 people have been killed in a Tsunami which hit the Palu city of Indonesia following a series of mighty earthquakes on Sulawesi Island on Friday afternoon.
Waves of up to 2m (6.6ft) high swept through Palu on Sulawesi island. Video on social media shows people screaming and fleeing in panic and a mosque amongst the buildings damaged.
As per the preliminary reports from Indonesia's Disaster Management Agency, dozens of buildings collapsed in Palu City and Donggala, a small city in Sulawesi. According to disaster agency's spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, houses were swept away and families were reported missing.
Last month, a series of deadly earthquakes struck the Indonesian island of Lombok, with the biggest, on 5 August, killing more than 460.(PenNews with input from UNI)
