Dhaka, Sep 11: Preparations are on full swing in the neighbouring Bangladesh for the general elections, scheduled to be held in December, even as Opposition BNP continues negotiation with Jukta (United) Front and Gano Forum, to forge a greater alliance.
However, it is still not clear who will head such an alliance, if they contest the next general elections from a single platform in Bangladesh.
All these Opposition parties would press for a set of demands, especially for free and fair elections and launch a movement with their demand, sources involved with the national unity process told UNI.However, the leadership of the platform, if it takes shape at one point before the December elections, is yet to be decided.
The issue is in the minds of the leaders concerned, since BNP leaders are still apprehensive over the release of party chief Khaleda Zia, who is languishing in jail in a corruption case. (UNI)
