Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that besides urbanisation, radicalisation was among the major causes for depletion of ecology.
Addressing the World Government Summit-2018 in Dubai, Modi gave the example of depletion of ecology by urbanisation as well as radicalisation, according to the Gulf News.
Modi also underlined the importance of six 'Rs' of environment friendliness -- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, Redesign and Remanufacture -- all of this leads to another R - Rejoice. "The goal of human existence is not just progress, but the creation of happiness. Happiness is man's greatest wealth," Modi added.
He also listed various digital and technological advancements under his government in India such as biometric registration of people and farmers being able to sell through portals online. The Indian Prime Minister said the mortality rate in India has reduced by one third, as an example of technology improving life in last 25 years. "But technology is sometimes used as tools of destruction, not development," he added.
Modi concluded his address by outlining his priorities -- online distance education for poor people in remote places, and solar energy storage facilities.
