Padmalaya Nanda,12, from Odisha has created history by becoming the youngest girl to bag the "Little Miss Universe Internet 2017" and "Little Miss Actress" crowns at the Little Miss Universe 2017 at port city of Batumi in Georgia.
Padmalaya Nanda, who studies in the 8th standard at a school in Cuttack, Odisha, bagged the crowns at the finale of the Little Miss Universe 2017, held at port city of Batumi in Georgia.
This is the first time that a 12 year old Indian girl has won this beauty pageant title.She will now participate in the "Little Miss World 2017" competition that will be held at Greece from Sept 25 to Oct 1, 2017.
Padmalaya stood first in the talent round and in the Royal Anthro Party where she showcased our Indian culture by performing Sambalpuri Dance.
Her talent could also be seen by her creativity in designing her own dresses and gowns for the whole competition.
The first round of Little Miss Universe 2017 started online with 1000 entries received from across the globe, of which 75 were shortlisted.On June 1, 2017, the top 10 participants were selected. Each participant went through different rounds like talent round, awareness round and ball room dancing.
The uniqueness in the competition was that the jury were not the judges present there but the audience that voted online. The silver crown was won by Thailand.
The award received by Padmalaya was a golden crown which is valid only for a year and will be returned to the Little Miss Universe 2018 competition.
