Hamirpur (HP), Jun 6 : Heavy rainfall lashed all parts of this district of Himachal Pradesh from the past 24 hours, paralyzing normal life. The district received about 24 mm of rainfall during the last twenty-four hours while the temperature, too, plummeted. Various parts of the district were also lashed by severe dust storms last night resulting in heavy loss to the fruit crops.
Reports reaching here say that water level in the River Beas and its tributaries has risen and people are hesitant to go near their beds for their own safety. Power supply in few parts of the district was also snapped during night hours due to falling of tree branches on the power lines. Supply was restored only when employees of the power board swung into action and cleared the power lines of the tree branches from there. Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorological has warned of more rains in the district for next forty-eight hours. (UNI)
