Shimla, May 5 : With the death of a COVID-19 positive patient at IGMC Shimla, the death toll of the pandemic increased to three in the state rising number of cases to 43 on Tuesday, senior Officer of Government confirmed. Additional Chief Secretary Health and Nodal Officer of Covid-19 confirmed in a statement that kidney failure of 21-year-old patient belonged to Sarkaghat area of Mandi district was referred to IGMC Shimla last night tested positive for SARS-COV-2 at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Dt. Government Medical college Nerchowk today.
Sample of the patient having symptomatic to Corona Virus was drawn st Sarkaghat today and tested positive at Nerchowk microbiology lab this afternoon. Mr Dhiman also confirmed that he died at IGMC Shimla this evening due to failure of Kidney unfortunately. The deceased returned to Sarkaghat from Delhi May 1. Medical Superintendent of SLBSGMC hospital Nerchowk Dr Jainand Chauhan said in a Medical bulletin. from Mandi today that a sample was tested positive for SARS-COV-2 of a patient belonging to Sarkaghat who was referred to IGMC last night as he required dialysis.
His sample was taken at Sarkaghat before referral IGMC , he added. With this total toll of Pandemic increased to three as a Tibetan identified as Tanjin Chhople died of COVID-19 at Dr RPGMC Tanda in March. A woman who was owner of a Helmet company Steelbird belonging to Jharmajari of Baddi Barotiwala industrial area died of Pandemic in PGI Chandigarh recently .
With this total number of cases increased to 43 in the state as one patient belonged to Jogindernagar area of Mandi district was also tested positive at Microbiology lab at Nerchowk on Monday. New cases are surging in the state with opening of borders by the government which remained sealed till last month by the state administration.
