Rain lashes part of Himachal, heatwave increases with humid weather

Shimla, May 1: Rain and hailstone lashed few places of Himachal Pradesh in last 24 hours. The weather was mainly dry and sunny on Friday. Meanwhile, the heatwave increased with humid weather conditions. The Met Office recorded 13 mm of rainfall in Nahan of Sirmaur district, while Palampur in Kangra saw 12 mm and Sujanpur Tira of Hamirpur ten mm of rainfall. Gaggal of Kangra and Mandi nine mm each, Gohar eight mm, Sundernagar & Sangrah in Sirmaur seven mm each, Dharamshala and Mehre-six mm each, Dharampur in Mandi and Bhoranj in Hamirpur five mm each.

The Met office warned of thunderstorms accompanied by hail, lightning, and gusty winds with speed of 30 to 40 km per hours in the mid and foot hills from May 3 , 4 and 5 in the state. The Met Office forecast rain or thundershower in many places in state from May 3 and rain and thundershowers at few places in the mid and foothills from tomorrow onward. (UNI)
