Shimla, Mar 13 : Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Friday urged the council of ministers, members of assembly and Parliament, state gazetted officers to donate one month salary to CMOreleif funds to help the needy and poor.
Making this suo moto statement after the Question hour in the state assembly today Mr Thakur expect the his ministers, MPs , MLAs and Officials to come forward with donation of a month salary to CMO relief funds, which will be distributed in large public interest.
Mr Thakur stated that during last two years, funds got donations of Rs 37.21 crore and he distributed about Rs 36.14 Cr from CM relief funds to 13,870 beneficiaries. Among the beneficiaries are 10,849 people for the treatment in the hospital, 1,725 people for holding marriages and 1290 others. Mr Thakur said that with joining of the CMO, only Rs 98 lakh was available in the funds.
This fund could be distributed for treatment of patients, providing relief to people affected in the natural callosities to provide relief to the family on death of bread earners to look after the children of helpless widows to support the meritorious students of economically weaker sections in professional education.
