Shimla, Feb 17 : Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted fresh spell of rain or snowfall from tomorrow onward due to western disturbances which would last for entire week, IMD said on Monday.
IMD in the weather forecast issued here today, said that rain or snowfall would occur at many places in mid and high reaches on Feb 20 and 21 and light rain or snowfall at few places on Feb 19. The state is likely to have rain or snowfall from tomorrow onward which would last till Feb 23. Warning of heavy rain, thunder and windstorm is also forecasted in the mid and foot hills on Feb 20 and 21 in the state.
Weather was mainly dry, however the cold wave increased in the state as the minimum temperature plummet by one to two degrees in the last 24 hrs. Keylong was coldest in the state with minus 7.6 degrees, Kalpa minus 1.5 d egress, Manali 0.2 degrees, Solan, 3.5 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu 3.l7 degrees, Kufri 3.9 degrees, Shimla 6.2 degrees, Sundernagar five degrees, Chamba 6.3 degrees Dlahousie, Una and Dhamrshala 6.4 degrees each.
Minimum temperature of Palampur in Kangra 6.5 degrees,Bilaspur 7.5 degrees, Kangar 7.6 degrees Hamirpur 7.8 degrees, Dharmashala 8.2 degrees, Mandi 8.5 degrees,and Nahan 12.5 degrees. (UNI)
