Shimla, Aug 11 : Six youths of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana were arrested as they were trying to impersonate as candidates in the Police recruitment exams being held at Parol in Kangra district on Sunday.
In a statement issued here, an official spokesperson said that after arresting the youths of UP and Haryana, the police arrested a youth of Nagrotu of Jawali area. He said the state government decided to cancel the exam.
The suspected main accused, a youth from Darkati, was still at large and an amount of Rs 6 lakh was recovered from his house.
He said it was being suspected that the accused were fleecing candidates by assuring them that they would qualify the examination by impersonating another candidate in place of genuine ones.
The spokesman said it would be ensured that the examinations were conducted in a transparent manner at the earliest.(UNI)
