Heavy rain disrupts life in HP

Shimla, Aug 6 : Moderate to heavy rain lashed some parts of Himachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, disturbing the normal life and water supply in the state.

In Sirmaur district, Paonta Sahib saw 98 mm raiinfal, Naina Devi in Bilaspur 86 mm Ghamroor in Kangra 69 mm, Nahan in Siramur 59 mm, Renuka 43 mm, Nagrota Suriyan in Kangra 29 mm, Kasauli in Solan 27 mm, Jubbar Hatti in Shimla 26 mm, Pandoh in Sirmaur 23 mm.

Mehre in Kangra district received 20 mm, Gaggal 19 mm, Baijnath, Dharamshala, Nadaun and Sulani 18 mm each, Sangrah in Sirmaur 13 mm, Bijahi in Mandi 12, Sarahan in Shimla & Jogindernagar in Mandi 10 mm each, Pachhad in Sirmaur 9 mm, Sujanpur Tira in Hamirpur five mm and Guler three mm.

Report of landslides and rolling down of boulders in the state had also reported from all over the state. The uprooting trees, destroying of cow sheds and killing of cattle heads had also reported from all over the state. Minimum temperature of Shimla was recorded 17.9 degree Celsius, Sundernagar in Mandi 23.7 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu 21.8 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnuar 14.6 degrees, Dharamshala 19.4 Una 26.6 degrees and Nahan in Siramur 17.5 degrees. Meanwhile, Keylong in Lahaul Spiti recorded 14.2 degrees, while Solan 22 degrees, Manali in Kullu 17 degrees, Kangra 22.3 degrees, Mandi 24.2 degrees, Bilaspur 20 degrees, Hamirpur 20.5 degrees and Chamba 22.6 degrees and Dalhousie 17 degrees and Kufri 14.3 degrees.

The Met Office forecast rain or thundershowers for many places in the mid hills and a few places in the foot hills and high reaches in next 24 hrs. (UNI)
