Heatwave intensifies in HP, IMD predicts widespread rain and thunderstorm

Shimla, Jun 15 : The heatwave is keeping sultry weather conditions in many places of Himachal Pradesh due to bright sunshine and humid condition moreover Indian Meteorological Department predicted or warned that thunder storm and widespread rain in the next 24 hrs, India Meteorological Department said on Saturday.
The maximum temperature in the foothills soar above 40 degree Celsius as Una recorded 43.4 degrees, four to five degrees above normal.
Bilaspur was 40.4 degrees, Hamirpur and Kangra around 40 degrees each, Sundernagar in Mandi 39.6 degrees, Nahan 38 degrees, Chamba 36.8 degrees, Solan 36 degrees and Bhuntar in Kullu 33.5 degrees each, Dharmashala 32.4 degrees, Shimla 29 degrees, Dalhousie 24 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur was 23.4 degrees, Keylong 21.5 degrees, respectively.
The Met Office has forecast rain or thunder showers in most places in the mid and foot hills and many places in high reaches during the next 24 hours.
Thunderstorm accompanied with hailstorm and wind with speed of 40 to 50 km per hours likely to occur in isolated places for the next three days in the mid and foot hills, the weatherman added. (UNI)
