Former BJP Minister Chaudhary Vidya Sagar passes away

Shimla, Apr 26: Former BJP Minister Chaudhary Vidya Sagar has passed away after a prolonged illness at his native place Jamnabad near Kangra family members of the deceased informed.
He was 85.
Vidya Sagar, who took his last breath on Thursday night, was elected for Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha in 1982, 1985, 1990 and 1998 from Kangra assembly seat and served as Minister for state for Irrigation and Public Health in 1992 and Cabinet Minister in Agriculture department from 1998 to 2003.
He had been a general secretary of BJP Legislature Group (1982-85), President of BJP district Kangra unit, State Convener Worker's Cell of BJP for two years.
Chaudhary Vidya Sagar also served in the department of Industries, evinced keen interest in Non Gazetted Employees Organisations, and its movement. He also served as Assistant Finance Secretary, joint Secretary, Vice President, Senior Vice President of several State NGOs.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and four daughters.
The last was rites of Mr Sagar likely to be held at his native village by today.UNI
