Chandigarh, Feb 24: With the weather clearing, the search operations for remaining five buried persons of the army trapped under an avalanche in Dogri Nala in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh are progressing with renewed vigor. Specialised rescue dog, rock drills and chain saws have also been deployed into the search operations.
The track leading to the avalanche site was under heavy snow. Due to the concerted efforts of the Army & BRO, the track has been partially cleared. The search & rescue operations are being closely monitored by the Headquarter Western Command. Lt Gen PM Bali, Chief of Staff, HQ Western Command, visited the site of avalanche on 23rd February and has assured that all out efforts are underway for the search of missing Army persons, a defence press release said on Sunday.
