Shimla/New Delhi, Dec 1: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday rang up Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, urging her to bring back home 14 Indians, stranded in Saudi Arabia due to some visa problem.
Out of these, 12 persons belonged to Himachal Pradesh, while other two were from Punjab, Mr Thakur pointed out.
He urged the Union Minister to personally take up the matter with Saudi Arabia authorities for the safe release of the persons, who had gone to the Gulf country, to earn their livelihood.
The Chief Minister said that he has also written a letter to Ms Swaraj, requesting her to ensure their safe passage to India, at the earliest. She assured that the Union government would extend all possible help for their early evacuation, Mr Thakur added.
He assured the families of the stranded persons that the state government was making all out efforts, to bring them back, at the earliest. (UNI)
