Shimla, Sep 2: The holy Manimahesh Yatra in Chamba district of this hill state was suspended on Sunday following death of three pilgrims, including a woman, just ahead of the pilgrimage.
According to SP Chamba Monica Buntugru, the pilgrimage is likely to be resumed on Monday. She said that the yatra was temporarily suspended due to landslides triggered by heavy rains in Bharmour and surrounding areas, Chamba district on Sunday.
Guddo Devi, a resident of Dalhousie of Chamba, died on her way to Manimahesh, at 13,000 feet from the sea level in the landslide at Sundrasi, SP said. Another pilgrim identified as Hem Raj of Balu Village of Gummerwin in Bilaspur district also died in the incident. (UNI)
