Hyderabad, Nov 24 : Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Secunderabad in association with Indian Academy of Paediatricians, twin cities branch on Sunday organized a one-day conference on “All About Bone Marrow Transplant in Paediatrics”.
The conference was all about the role of hematopoietic Bone Marrow transplantation in children. It is organized by Dr T Narender Kumar, Consultant Hemato-oncologiston the occasion of completionof four successful years of hematopoietic/bone marrow transplantation at KIMS, Secunderabad.
The main objective of this conference was to improve awareness among the paediatricians about the role and process of bone marrow transplant in children. It was attended by national and state level faculty, and paediatricians from across the districts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Some of the topics covered in the conference were - Paediatric transplant in India from clinic to BMT unit, Transplant indications, Management of Infections in BMT How paediatric BMT differs from adult BMT, Post-transplant complications.
The conference was attended by around 250 Paediatricians from different.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr T Narender Kumar, Consultant Hemato-Oncologist, KIMS Hospitals, said, “The primary objective of this conference was to bring together the paediatricians from across the twin states to understand Bone Marrow Transplantation. Conference focussed on most of the aspects of bone marrow transplantation in children. The sessions were interactive in which the topics were discussed from basics to the highest level.” (UNI)
