Chandigarh, May 26 : Haryana recorded 18 fresh coronavirus cases on Tuesday, pushing the infection tally to 1,215. According to an official health bulletin, 12 fresh cases have been reported from Gurugram district, three from Bhiwani, two from Faridabad and one from Sirsa district.

Of the 16 fatalities till now, six deaths have been reported from Faridabad district, three from Panipat, two each from Gurugram and Ambala, while one death each was reported from Sonepat, Karnal and Rohtak districts.

Gurugram has reported the highest number of infections in the state with 296 confirmed cases, followed by Faridabad 213, Sonepat 163, Jhajjar 93, Nuh 65, Panipat 54, Ambala 42, Palwal 41, Karnal 33, Jind 29, Panchkula 26, Mahendergarh 21, Hisar 20, Kurukshetra 18, Rohtak and Rewari 16 each, Bhiwani eleven, Sirsa ten, Fatehabad nine, Yamunanagar eight, Charkhi Dadri seven, Kaithal six and 21 US- returnee Haryana citizens.

Of 1,01,003 samples, 1,215 have tested positive and 96,285 negative, while results of 3,489 samples are awaited. There are 410 active cases in the state. A total of 789 patients, including 166 from Gurugram, 124 from Sonepat, 120 from Faridabad, 90 from Jhajjar, 65 from Nuh, 40 from Ambala, 36 from Palwal, 33 from Panipat, 24 from Panchkula, 18 from Jind, 16 from Karnal, ten from Rohtak, eight each from Sirsa and Yamunanagar, six each from Fatehabad, Bhiwani and Mahendragarh, four from Kaithal, three each from Kurukshetra and Hisar and one patient each from Charkhi Dadri and Rewari districts have been discharged from hospitals till now.

As many as 57,284 patients have been put on surveillance till date, of which 33,998 have completed their surveillance period and presently, only 17,296 patients are under surveillance. The total 1,215 positive cases exclude 14 Italian nationals. Thirteen of them had been discharged after their initial test was negative and one later tested negative for COVID-19.
