Haryana registers 3 new Covid-19 cases; tally rises to 290

Chandigarh, Apr 28: Three fresh cases of Novel Coronavirus were reported in Haryana on Tuesday, taking the count to 290.

According to an official bulletin, three new cases were reported from Jhajjar district on Tuesday.

So far, the pandemic has claimed three lives in the state. One death each was reported from Karnal, Rohtak and Ambala districts.

In Haryana, Nuh district leads the tally with 57 positive cases, followed by Gurugram 51, Faridabad 46, Palwal 34, Sonepat 22, Panchkula 18, Ambala 14, Panipat 12, Karnal six, Jhajjar, Sirsa, Hisar and Rohtak four each, Bhiwani and Yamunanagar three each, Kurukshetra, Kaithal and Jind two each, while Fatehabad and Charkhi Dadri districts recorded one case each.

Out of 23,907 samples, 290 tested positive and 21,663 negative, while reports of 1,940 were awaited. There are 83 active cases in the state.

A total of 199 patients, including 44 from Nuh, 39 from Faridbad, 36 from Gurugram, 30 from Palwal, 12 from Panchkula, 10 from Ambala, five each from Karnal and Panipat, four each from Sirsa and Sonepat, three from Yamunanagar, two each from Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Hisar, Jind and Bhiwani and one patient each from Fatehabad and Charkhi Dadri districts have been discharged from hospitals, so far.

A total of 34,965 patients have been put on surveillance till date, out of which 19,530 have completed their surveillance period and currently, 15,435 patients are under surveillance.

Meanwhile, apart from 290 positive cases, 14 Italians had tested positive. Thirteen of them had been discharged and one later tested negative for COVID-19. However, he died due to some other reason. (UNI)
