Covid-19 +ve cases rise to 141 in Haryana

Chandigarh, Apr 8: The tally of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases rose to 141 in Haryana with 12 fresh cases being reported in the state on Wednesday.

Faridabad district reported seven new cases, Palwal two and Sonepat, Fatehabad and Nuh districts registered one fresh case each.

In Haryana, Nuh district tops the tally with 38 positive cases, follows by Palwal and Faridad with 28 cases each, Gurugram 20, Karnal five, Panipat four, Ambala and Sirsa three each, Sonepat, Panchkula and Bhiwani two each and Kaithal, Fatehabad, Hisar, Rohtak, Jind and Charkhi Dadri districts recorded one case each, an official bulletin said here on Wednesday morning.

Out of total 141 confirmed cases, six are from Sri Lanka and one each from Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, South Africa and 51 from other States (eleven Uttar Pradesh, eight Bihar, seven Tamil Nadu, five Kerala, four West Bengal, three each from Maharashtra and Jammu and Kashmir, two each from Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana and one each from Punjab, Karnataka, Chennai and Assam). The deadly Corona virus has claimed two lives in Haryana so far. One death was reported from Karnal district and another from Rohtak district. However, nine patients from Gurugram, three from Panipat, two from Faridabad and one patient each from Hisar, Palwal and Sonepat were discharged.

A total of 21,676 patients, including 20,845 passengers returned from foreign countries and 831 persons in contact with COVID 19 positive cases, have been put on surveillance till date out of which 687 persons have completed their surveillance period and currently 16,770 patients are under surveillance. Among them, 687 persons are currently hospitalized/isolated. Out of 2520 samples, 141 samples found positive, 1821 negative while reports of 558 are awaited. (UNI)
