Supplying 55 litres per capita drinking water daily: Anil Vij

Chandigarh, Mar 3 : Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister Anil Vij on Tuesday, during the ongoing Assembly session here, said that 55 liters per capita of drinking water is being supplied to the cities by the department on a daily basis.

"A total of 248 tube-wells are supplying drinking water for Ward numbers 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 of Faridabad NIT Constituency", the Minister said while responding to a question. He further shared that the drinking water for Ward number 1 and 3 is also being supplied through ‘Ranney well System’ situated in Village Mothuka and in Ward number 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, the water is supplied through the Ranney well located in villages Manjhawali and Dadasia.

The Minister appraised the House that as per population, these wards should get 54 MLD water and presently 38.62 MLD water is being supplied. He further said that to meet the gap of 15.62 MLD water, 26 new tube wells are being installed under the JNNURM scheme before May 2020. (UNI)
