New Delhi, Oct 4: Congress president Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, former party president Rahul Gandhi and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are among the star campaigned for the Congress in haryana in the upcoming state assembly elections.
Sonia, Singh, Rahul and Priyanka are in the list of 40 campaigners for Haryana Assembly polls finalised by the party on Friday. These campaigners will address election meetings in Haryana.
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will also attend the election meetings in the state.
Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, party state chief Kumari Selja, senior leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ahmed Patel, Anand Sharma, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Salman Khurshid, Pramod Tiwari, Rajiv Shukla, Raj Babbar, Sunil Jakhar, Rajasthan deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, Udit Raj, PL Punia and actress Nagma will also campaign for the party in the state assembly elections.
The Congress also included the name of former Haryana PCC president Ashok Tanwar in the list of campaigners.
Tanwar, however, had resigned from all election committees, a day after protesting outside Ms Gandhi's residence over alleged corruption in ticket distribution.
The Congress had replaced Mr Tanwar with Kumari Selja after Mr Hooda threatened that he will form new party before the assembly election.
The party also had appointed Mr Hooda as Legislative party leader and head of the party's election management committee. (UNI)
