New Delhi, Sep 10: Gearing up for the assembly election in Haryana, the Congress on Tuesday constituted the Pradesh Election Committee and Campaign Committee for the state assembly polls, to be chaired by former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
According to a release by AICC general secretary K C Venugopal, the pradesh election committee, approved by party president Sonia Gandhi, comprises former state PCC chief Ashok Tanwar, AICC media incharge Randeep Surjewala, senior party leader in the state Kiran Chaudhry, Kuldip Bishnoi, HS Chatta and Shadi Lal Batra among others.
The election campaign committee, chaired by Ajay Singh Yadav and convened by Dilu Ram Bazigar, comprises former Union minister and PCC chief Kumari Selja, former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Randeep Surjewala, Kuldeep Bishnoi, Deepender Hooda, Shruti Chaudhry, Normal Singh, Lalit Nagar, Ajay Chaudhry among others.
The Congress had recently announced that former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda would be the chairman of the pradesh election committee.
Elections to the Haryana assembly are scheduled to be held in October November.
The Congress is looking to unseat the BJP Government in the state under the chief Ministership of Manohar Lal Khattar. (UNI)
