New Delhi, Jul 28 : In a bid to provide better infrastructure to the working journalists, Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Sunday inaugurated new Media Centre at Haryana Bhawan, here.
The air-conditioned media centre has been established at a cost of about Rs 41.75 lakh and has all modern facilities, including computer, TV, video conference, internet and Wi-Fi. The facility of lockers has also been given to the media persons to keep their equipment. Apart from this, the Media Centre has a facility of a pantry for refreshment. Addressing the media persons, after inaugurating the media centre, the CM said, ‘I would like to congratulate the media people because a media centre has been inaugurated at Haryana Bhawan. This will help journalists who come here for news and those nearby to send news as it will save time.'
He also highlighted the various works carried out by his government for the welfare of the journalists. Informing about the pension scheme for journalists of the Haryana, he said,'monthly pension of Rs 10,000 is given to journalist after 60 years of age who worked for 20 years in the state.125 journalists have been benefited so far from the scheme. So far Rs two crore has been spent under this scheme.'He further informed that in 22 districts, Media Centre has been established. (UNI)
