Kaithal, Jul 21 : Giving the slogan “75 paar iss baar”, Indian National Congress national media incharge and Kaithal MLA Randeep Singh Surjewala here on Sunday asserted that his party would come back to power in the coming assembly elections. The slogan “75 Paar Iss Baar” apparently means more than 75 seats in assembly polls. The Congress leader said that even during the past when the party faced setbacks, it returned with a majority.
Surjewala claimed that Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, during the past five years visited various Assembly constituencies in Kaithal district but no development work can be seen. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to this district to lay foundation stone of a highway in 2014, which was still incomplete, he added. The Kaithal MLA said that during Congress regime, three sewer treatment plants, three sewer lines cleaning machines, 82 power substations, two polytechnic colleges, one driving school, 37 parks, number of open and indoor stadiums, health centers, road building, chaupals construction and several other development works for hundred of crores were executed.
However, the Haryana Chief Minister could not even improve village Keorak of Kaithal adopted by him, Surjewala claimed. Contrary to claims by Khattar, corruption was rampant in the State. In Kaithal, a big land scam was exposed as Waqf Board land worth hundred of crores opposite Balmiki community centre along Khanouri bypass was being occupied illegally by land mafia with support from BJP activists, the government and the administration, the Congress leader alleged. He further alleged that land opposite to Bhai Udai Singh Fort here was occupied by a wing of the BJP.
