Chandigarh, May 30 : Haryana Government will confer state award on individuals or organisations providing outstanding services to prevent alcohol and drug addiction.
A spokesman for the Social Justice and Empowerment Department said on Thursday that the first prize will be of Rs 50,000, second of Rs 30,000 and third Rs 20,000.
The categories included the best drug de-addiction centre providing services for the prevention of alcohol and drug abuse, the best panchayati raj Institution and best municipalities working for prevention of consumption of alcohol and intoxicants and the best schools and colleges working for spreading awareness regarding the ill effects of alcohol and intoxicants and their prevention.
The spokesman said people launching the best disease prevention campaign and the best awareness campaign besides professionals and non-professionals who have achieved something extraordinary, will be honoured with the State Award. (UNI)
