Kaithal, May 25 (UNI) Local police has arrested five Uttar Pradesh residents for their alleged involvement in attacking, attempt to kidnap and looting Rs two lakh from a local commission agent from his shop in new Anaj Mandi on May 23 evening.
SP Waseem Akram on Saturday said that all the accused, arrested from Narnound town in Hisar district, were produced in a court on Saturday and remanded to police custody for two days. Two vehicles used by the attackers have also been impounded.
The accused have been identified as Dev Lakra of Baghpat, Vipul Dhillan and Arun Lohas, both of Meerut village, Parvinder Kumar of Modipuram and Vishal of Bawli village in Baghpat.
The SP said that on May 23, commission agent Ram Niwas was sitting in his shop when unidentified youths in three cars reached his shop, beat him up, forcibly took out Rs two lakh from his cash box and tried to kidnap the trader. The attackers fled in the cars when other commission agents in the mandi and laborers raised an alarm.
Accused Dev Lakra told police that one Anuj Kajal of Narnound had contacted him to accompany him to Kaithal with others as he had to take some money from son of a commission agent in Kaithal. Following which he along with Anuj Kajal and others came to Kaithal mandi and the incident took place. UNI
