A 19 year old CBSE Topper was allegedly abducted when coming out of her coaching centre and taken to a farm near Jhajjhar and gang raped on Wednesday. The perpetrators of the crime are still at large and have not been nabbed. When CM Khattar was asked by the journalist of a leading English news channel about this, he lost his cool. He asked the reporter to stop ‘Heckling’ him and feigned no knowledge of the case. ‘What are you asking?’ and went on to say he did not know what issue he was asking about. A visibly shaken CM soon moved away. It seems that his priority is the Swatchata programme that is being celebrated there and not the crime committed at Rewari.
Police have said that the victim was given a drink laced with sedatives before being raped. She was found at the Kanina bus stand in an unconscious state. On getting information her parents rushed to the spot and brought her home.
On learning of the gruesome details, her parents approached the police to lodge a complaint who allegedly refused to register the case. They were then forced to go to the women police station and file the FIR. A zero FIR was filed there and then transferred to the Kanina police station. It is understood that the police at Kanina have formed three separate teams to nab the accused. Doctors said that the victim is out of danger and her medical reports will be out soon.
It has been reported that the victim and her mother have identified the culprits in spite of which they are yet to be nabbed.
Deeply upset by the terrible turn of events, the victim’s mother said, ’ The government tells us to ensure our daughters are educated. If the streets are not safe, how can our girls go out and study? My daughter was subjected to grave injustice. I only want justice for her. She is a bright student and this is not what we foresaw for her.’ According to the victim’s mother he r daughter had also been honoured by the President for taking part in the republic Day celebrations.
