Amreli, Apr 28: The body of a five year old lion was found from a wasteland close to the eastern part of the Gir forests in Gujarat on Monday.

Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) D T Vasavada said that the body was found from the wasteland area in Nitali revenue village close to Tulsishyam range and Kothariya round of the forests. 'ACF, RFO and other field staff have scanned the location, surrounding area and the body. It seems to be 8 to 10 days old. DFO has visited the site.

The exact cause of death could not be ascertained at present as internal organs were autolysed. External examination of the carcass primarily revealed nothing suspicious. All claws were found intact. Post-mortem was conducted by a Vet officer of Dhari,’' he added. (UNI)
