Gujarat: Gambling racket cracked, 50 held

Vadodara, Sep 8: Fifty people including the operator of a gambling racket have been arrested by the crime branch of Vadodara police from Nagarwada area in the city, police said on Sunday.

The operator was identified as Anawar Ghulam Hussain Sindhi.

The raid was conducted on Ruby Gymkhana, a social club where the gambling den was being operated on Saturday. The alleged accused belonged from Ahmedabad, Kheda, Anand and Panchmahal districts.

According to police, cash worth Rs 3.88 lakhs, 43 mobile phones, 16 two-wheelers, four cars and a three-wheeler worth over Rs 40 lakh have been seized from the spot.

A case has been registered under relevant sections and investigations were underway, police added. (UNI)
