Security forces, including the Border Security Force and the Indian Coast Guard, have been put on high alert at all ports in Gujarat, including Kandla after intelligence inputs warned that Pakistan-trained SSG commandos or terrorists ‘would try to enter the Gulf of Kutch and Sir Creek area using small boats.
Sources suggested that 'Pakistani commandos are likely to infiltrate into Indian territory through the Kutch area, through sea route to create a communal disturbance or terrorist attack in Gujarat.'
Security agencies have been asked to stay alert and to carry out patrolling along with the ports, sources said.
As per a daily, both Kandla Port and Adani Port in Mundra have asked shipping agents to inform their vessels and carry out terror watch in view of the alert.
They have been directed to report any suspicious activity to the Coast Guard, marine police stations or port control rooms,' the report said.
