Ahmedabad, Aug 26 : Monsoon has again become active in parts of Gujarat and the MET department has issued heavy to extremely heavy rain warning for the next three days.
IMD center Director Jayant Sarkar on Sunday said that today and the day after there would be good rain with some spells of extremely heavy rain in East Central and Northern Gujarat. Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar would also see some rain.
On August 28, Kutch and parts of North Gujarat would see good rain.
He said that a shear zone was causing this rain and it was expected that on August 28 or 29, a new low pressure area would be formed over the bay of Bengal. It it happens, more rain would happen in Gujarat which has so far seen almost 90 per cent of its seasonal average rainfall.
Meanwhile from 0600 hrs to 1200 hrs on Sunday 73 talukas of 17 districts have seen rain with Khanpur in Mahisagar district receiving highest of 66mm, Godhara 57mm, Morva Hadaf 55, Bhiloda 46mm, Vadodara city 40mm.
In the last 24 hours ending 1600 hrs today 48 talukas of 14 districts had seen rain with Dahod getting maximum 45 mm, Vadali in Sabarkantha had seen 43 mm. (UNI)
