Pune, June 17 : Conditions are becoming favorable for further advancement of southwest monsoon into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, West Bay of Bengal, Karnataka as well as some parts of south Konkan and Goa, Andhra Pradesh and remaining parts of North East, Tamil Nadu, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and some parts of Odisha.

Heavy to very heavy rainfalls very likely to lash at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Gujarat and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rough to very rough sea condition forecast over northeast as well as adjoining areas of central Arabian sea along and off Gujarat coast hence fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas during the next 24 hours.

Squall winds with speed of the order 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph is prevailing over northeast as well as adjoining central Arabian Sea whereas squall winds with speed of the order of 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph very likely to commence along & off Gujarat coast.

Day temperatures were above normal in some parts of Konkan and Goa, Madhya Pradesh and were appreciably above normal in some parts of Odisha, madhya Maharashtra, north interior Karnataka and in remaining parts of Marathwada.

Day temperatures markedly above normal in some parts of Chhattisgarh, Rayalaseema and in remaining parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Day temperatures were below normal in some parts of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and in remaining parts of Odisha and Rajasthan.
Day temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and Rajasthan.

The maximum temperatures were normal over the rest of the country. The highest maximum temperature recorded over the plains was 46 degree Celsius in Dehri of Bihar.

Heat waves to severe heat waves swept across many places of Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam,and Telangana as well as isolated places of Bihar,Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Marathwada, Chhattisgarh,Tamil Nadu, Puducherry,and Karaikal.

Thunderstorm along with squall very likely at isolated places in Vidarbha, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Marathawada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Dust storm along gusty winds with speed 30-40 kmph very likely at isolated places in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, west Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Heat waves to severe heat waves very likely to sweep across isolated pockets of Bihar, Telangana, Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, east Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Marathwada.

Rain or thundershowers occurred at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, coastal Karnataka,Andaman and Nicobar Islands,Assam,Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh,Konkan and Goa and at isolated places in Odisha, east and west Rajasthan, Gujarat Region, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Saurashtra and Kutch, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather prevailed in Uttarakhand, Punjab and north interior Karnataka. (UNI)
