Patidar quota agitation leader Hardik Patel was on Friday hospitalised after his health deteriorated.
The Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel’s health deteriorated on Friday when he stopped taking water from Thursday as the State government did not pay any attention to his three demands. Hardik was taken to the Sola Civil Hospital at 3.50 pm in a mobile ICU from his residence near Vaishno Devi circle in Ahmedabad. After preliminary check up, he was shifted to SGVP Holistic Hospital in Chharodi at 10.15 pm.
Earlier in the day, Naresh Patel had declared that he will meet Hardik and try to mediate talks between Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) and the State government. "Hardik has given me his approval to hold talks with the state government over his demands," said Naresh Patel. Hardik Patel was shifted to Sola hospital minutes after leader of Patidar organisation Khodaldham Trust, Naresh Patel, spoke to him.
Hardik Patel began his indefinite hunger strike on August 25 raising three demands such as the reservations for Patidar community, loan waiver for farmers and release of his aide-Alpesh Kathiria, who was booked in a sedition case.
Earlier also, Patel had stopped taking water on August 30. However, he started taking water after SP Swami of Gadhada Swaminarayan temple offered him water considering his deteriorating health conditions. Manoj Panara, PAAS spokesperson and Morbi convenor of the outfit alleged that the government wanted to create turmoil in Gujarat so that it could book Hardik and all the leaders of PAAS under fresh case of sedition. The Gujarat government has been maintaining that the agitation is sponsored by the Congress. UNI
